Shelter-In-Place Order Lifted At Three Hoboken Schools Following Burglary (Updated)

A shelter-in-place order at three schools in Hoboken has been lifted following an attempted burglary, police said on Wednesday, June 21.

Police had initially received a report of the burglary in a residential building on the 800 block of Willow Avenue and they attempted to track down a suspect, officers said.

A shelter-in-place was ordered for Wallace Elementary School, Brandt Elementary School and Hoboken High School as a precaution, police said. There was no threat to any schools, police said.

Police lifted the order after clearing the area, officers said. Police were unable to locate the suspect and an investigation is ongoing, officers said.

Police had asked residents to avoid the area of Willow and Park between 8th and 9th Streets due to a possible burglary investigation, officers said
